Ceilidh Review

Graphic Representation of the Dialogic Process

Looking at this index, you can clearly see a number of drafts with comments interspersed from other sources. This is a picture of the dialogue surrounding several students' drafts. They can see that there is much more happening in the class than just a single person creating a single text.

It is easy to show them how they have all created a text together and gained a greater meaning from the dialogue taking place. It is easy to show how dialogism took place by showing students the comments they received during the drafting process and how the comments became voices in their final draft. Similarly, it is easy to point out how the multi-voiced, or more dialogic papers, seem to address the concept of audience much better. While there may be other programs that might save drafts and comments, Ceilidh makes this process much more simpler to access and see pictured on the screen; thus, it is simpler to demonstrate to students. And, of course, don't forget this is all done from a web-based system so there is no need to access several programs like word processors and email to accomplish this task.
