Ceilidh Review

Simple-to-Use

Ceilidh is very simple for students and instructors to use. Students simply use the cut-and-paste feature to submit their papers and the program creates a web page containing their document. With no need to know HTML, to use a web-editor, or to FTP a file, this program creates pages for instructors and students on the "fly". The program reads HTML code, and students or instructors with a knowledge of HTML can take advantage of this function to add aesthetic design characteristics to their papers. More importantly, students can embed links in their papers by simply typing in HTML tags and URLs. In addition, the program threads messages for you which can be sorted by author, date, and subject. Students can post and edit papers easily without having to exchange them through an email type program or through FTP procedures. The Reply function also instantly creates a copy of the student's paper which can be easily edited by the instructor or a student and posted without changing the format of the student's original draft. The features are easily shown to the students in a five minute lab session without the need for a tutorial.
