Overview
As a student and an instructor at Utah State University, I have been using the Ceilidh program for a year. I use it as the primary source of communication in my online English 101 classes and as a vital part of the online writing center we have been developing at USU for the past year. In the beginning, I believe our department was using Ceilidh for the online classes simply because it worked. Now, as I have used it extensively and compared it with other programs available for instructors, I have pinpointed the three main advantages Ceilidh has over other programs. Ceilidh offers a simple-to-use, web-based interface, and the ability to actually demonstrate and teach concepts that are very important for beginning composition students to understand.
