Ceilidh Review

Revision

Perhaps the most difficult task writing teachers face is getting their students to revise and actually understand how to integrate feedback from peers into their papers. In addition, it is also often difficult to keep track of a student's progress through the drafting process. Ceilidh allows an instructor to demonstrate for students how the various levels of revision have occurred throughout a student's drafting process and to show how and why improvements were made. Students can also examine the way other students have integrated instructor and peer suggestions into their papers.

Instructors create a graphic record of suggestions they have made for students on drafts and are able to track students through the entire process, quickly and easily. If necessary, an instructor could actually create a separate Ceilidh page for each student to present a portfolio of work with drafts, instructor and peer comments, and links to research support on the web. Not only does this help an instructor show a student where they have or have not been participating in the revision process, it is also valuable for visually representing a student's progress and improvement through a class to other interested parties.
