Summary

The value of WebWhacker, an on-line downloading and off-line browsing tool from Blue Squirrel, is that it allows writers and teachers of writing to present Internet demonstrations even when there is not an Internet connection available. This productive use of the software, however, is marred first because it allows the user to control and censor off-line access to the Internet and second because the name WebWhacker suggests a sexual and violent treatment of the World Wide Web.
