NetCheque is one of the few ecash distributors that
doesn't claim flawless security and safety in using
ecash. Their large concern is that one's "password"
that you have to fill in on your electronic check can
be intercepted as it traverses the net. The only
information other than a dollar amount that traverses
the net--everything else stays presumably safe in a
NetCheque database.

Netchex constructs ecash primarily in terms of security.
Of the eighteen categories of information they provide
regarding its use, the first ten concern themselves with
issues of security. The next four are concerned with
ease of use, and the last three with equating its use
with the use of a traditional checking account.
Private keys, authentication, encryption, and security are
all used to describe this service.
