Study 1 Question 2:

Do females and males rank the same statement similarly?

This question seeks to determine if females and males have different perceptions of gender. Like the question above, I averaged answers to analyze this question. However, with this question I did not analyze the answers for the group of participants as a whole, but instead averaged the ratings of the females and the males separately. By averaging the answers separately, I could see how each sex was most likely to rate the statements and could compare these results. Figures 2, 3, and 4 show the results of this analysis.

The analysis shows that many of the ratings of statements average differently for females than for males. For example, Figure 2 shows that statement 20 has an average of 2.2 for females, an average of 2.5 for males, and the average for both around 2.35. A few statements, like statement 46 on Figure 4, show that the female and the male answers average to be about the same. In most cases the average was different, so this suggests that male and females did rank the statements differently.
