Offers access to federal government funding opportunities. Check out the links to pages on Grants and Contracts, Educational Resources, and Higher Education.

FIPSE
Offers funding specifically for improving post-secondary education. Those involved in distance education should also look at the LAAP program.

State and Local Resources
Connects to information on State resources from the federal site.

The Foundation Center
Seeks to support and improve institutional philanthropy by promoting public understanding of the field and helping grantseekers succeed (requires membership to access all of site but does allow some non-member access to information).

Yahoo! Philanthropy: Grant-making Foundations
A very general directory to web sites for foundations.

Foundations Online
A list of foundations and grantmakers by name with links to their web sites.

FoundationDataBook.com
Sells directories for state-specific foundations in Oregon, Iowa, Louisiana, Nebraska, and Washington, but it has links to lists of the foundations: http://www.foundationdatabook.com/others.html.

GuideStar
Offers a free searchable database of more than 850,000 IRS-recognized nonprofit organizations.

Council on Foundations
Focuses on helping foundation staff, trustees and board members in their day-to-day grantmaking activities. Use the SELECT-A-TOPIC option bar to access "looking for a grant."
