Élekcriture indicates the "verbal interaction and communication in cyphertext. Borrowing from the Greek for the beaming sun (elektra) and French feminism's notion of writing, écriture féminine, [Haynes and Holmevik] coined élekcriture to describe a thematic conjunction between electricity and the streams of writing that spill forth in cyphertextsa discourse that resists traditional ways of organizing and controlling the flow of conversation" (220). This real-time writing-as-communication/interaction is every bit as immaterial and nonsubstantial as the oral "texts" of everyday conversation—and yet: they are published.
