Study 2: Analysis and Results

From the results of the surveys, I had several questions about what the results meant. I turned these into four research questions.

Questions:
1. Is language gendered? (examined in questions 2-14 of the interview)
2. What reasons do males and females have for their perceptions of gendered language? (examined in questions 2-14 of the interview, particularly 11 and 12)
3. Why might people perceive language as neutral? (examined in questions 2-14 of the interview)
4. Are gendered statements related to the sex of the speaker/writer? (question14)?

These questions I examined through the interview questions and participants' responses. The analysis provides interesting information on participants' perceptions of gendered language.
