Editors' Acknowledgments

In this space, the editors would like to share some personal acknowledgements regarding their new positions and in relation to this issue.

We owe innumerable thanks to Douglas and James for providing us with this editorial position. Although we’d thought of, one day, becoming editors, we never expected it to happen now. In retrospect, we were overly confident that the CoverWeb and our other editorial experiences had prepared us for the lead editor positions, but that seems almost laughable now. It has become too-obvious the HUGE amount of work you accomplished as editors—from the daily correspondence with authors, board members, and staff to the minute technical functioning of a multi-sectioned journal (which, thankfully, is a responsibility you retain as Senior Editors) to sustaining the memory and momentum of a journal that has become a strong force in our field. (Who knew that organizing a few awards or coordinating a few sections would be such a time-consuming responsibility?!) And you’ve done this through thick and thin years, nearly from the beginning. We are honored to walk in your footsteps and hope we can carry on the mission and tradition of Kairos while growing it in new ways, with your help. A million thanks for your guidance and good humor amidst our gleeful astonishment followed by task-based e-mail freak-outs as we transitioned into these roles over the last few months.

And, for this issue, we again owe a giant debt of gratitude to Douglas and James for approving of the journal-wide anniversary theme nearly two years ago and allowing us to follow through on it. In addition, we owe many thanks to all of the amazing and smart work that the section editors and assistant editors have accomplished to solicit, create, and finalize webtexts specific to the anniversary issue. For your graciousness as we transitioned into leadership roles (despite our overly Type-A publication neuroses), we have much respect and continued amazement that you make this journal, and this wonderful issue, all that it is. Thank you.
