High Noon

CUT to a long, high-angle shot of the scene. The empty street suddenly fills with people rushing out of buildings. They run toward Will. He gets up slowly, shaking away those seeking to aid him, except for Amy.

The camera closes in on him. He glares disgustedly at the townspeople. Then in a defiant gesture he takes the tin star from his vest and throws it to the dusty ground.

CUT to a close-up of the star in the dust.

Fortune

Cooper

(Maurice Blanchot, Writing the Disaster).
