Haynes and Holmevik on the chiasmus:

Time to secede from the union of the crossroads. We have in mind the crossing of a chiasmus, which, as a deconstructive move, involves a double gesture. Derrida (1981) explained that overturning a hierarchy, in which one model governs the other, is not just an attempt to invert the terms—following the overthrow, one marks the interval between the inversion of the two terms, releasing the emergence of a new concept not "included in the previous regime" (pp. 41-42 [in Derrida]). In this moment, in our present, we suggest the concept of synchronicity as what has not been included in the previous regime of publication. (216)
