According to the creators
of the CAAP exam, a college or university should choose to
administer the writing skills exam only if those schools' writing
program classes mirror the content of the writing skills exam, which
“measures students' understanding of the conventions of standard
written English in punctuation, grammar, sentence structure,
strategy, organization, and style” 3 through a 72-item,
40-minute multiple choice test.
