Sadie Cornell and I designed this Honors Mentorship Research Project to gain a student's perspective on hypertext literature. Her project would, we hoped, provide guidance for me and other faculty interested in incorporating literary hypertexts into future classes here at Tidewater Community College. Although I had ordered a few hypertext novels for our library collection, I had not had an opportunity to review them for possible incorporation into my classes. Sadie's interest in literature and in experimentation with new media meant that she would bring to the project both enthusiasm and technical skills.

Sadie found definitions of hypertext, reviews of  literary hypertexts, the history of hypertext, and discussions of some of the issues surrounding web publications. In addition to giving us the hoped-for student's perspective on these works and providing future students and faculty with useful resources, she developed the research project as a hypertext and composed her own original hypertext poem, "A Vision."
