Hey, all--

I thought I'd throw out a question to get us started . . . .

What *is* hypertext nowadays? At one time, it was simply the "electronic writing space." Now, with the emergence of the Web, we've seen, I think, a much more political debate emerge---that is, everyone says what's on the Web isn't necessarily hypertext, but we don't as often see people saying why not. With _Kairos_, for example, we call our features "webtexts," instead of "hypertexts" now. At the same time, we have some interesting work by Eastgate Systems that often gets pushed as more hypertextual than most of what else is out there.

Ideas?

Prompting-ly, (:

James
