The bottom line is that we have to
survive personally and professionally. That's really
it. If you can survive this effort over a number of
years, if you stay involved and don't get too burned
out, you will be successful because there's a lot of
intelligence and motivation in the computers and
writing community, and you can feed off of that. But
you have to recruit and maintain a community of
colleagues. I think we need to do it both locally and
at a distance, but you certainly need to do it
locally, because it's too big a job for any one
person to do by themselves.
