A debriefing is basically a reflection on past performance with an analysis of how to sustain one’s strengths and improve upon one’s perceived weaknesses. In this section you will first read about Paige’s sustains and improves followed by Mike’s. In the military we build upon what we call our lessons learned, arrived at through the model of the "after-action review," designed to help those who desire to conduct similar operations learn from our mistakes and mirror our successes. Lessons learned are typically shared via sustains and improves, or the areas in which we are performing well and the areas in which we need further work or factors that require further consideration in future operations.
