Two of our online writing instructors have experimented — with mixed success — in various online writing spaces. In 2007, after teaching online with a combination of wikis, blogs and BlackBoard software, they created a class rendezvous point at Wikispaces, a free wiki that harnesses Web 2.0 features and integrates well with other collaborative sites, like Odeo (Podcasting), YouTube (Video) and Google Widgets (mutimedia web apps). During the semester, students were required to maintain a "live" e-portfolio at Wikispaces to demonstrate they were keeping pace with weekly assignments.
