Constructing a BIG text

Envisioning a first-year writing program that uses a CHAT framework to shape work that includes both conventional academic texts and alternative, multimodal texts (particularly including—but not limited to—access to digital composition tools) requires, as a first step, an attempt to create a compilation of values for the course that incorporates the ideas I have gathered from the sources I've named here, the information from our core text, and the example of Jason's experimental classroom.

My articulation of what I value in composition courses, and my ability to tell this valuation effectively, will certainly be mediated by attempts to understand the needs of administration, students, faculty, teaching assistants, and other stakeholders, such as academic advisors, recruiters, and members of the Kalamazoo community.
