gap

A gap existed between the population of deaf students and the university, a communication gap, a differend, in which the definitions of the terms under discussion are not shared. A group of fifteen to seventeen students sought what they defined as just and lawful accommodations according to their reading of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). At the same time, the University provided what it thought was its lawful responsibility to provide under ADA guidelines. This web does not seek to choose sides, but rather to describe the situation as it existed on one anonymized campus.
