I agree (I think this is agreement)that hypertext can emphasize the contextual nature of text production. In going back and reading the transcript, I at first tried to recreate my reaction to the experience, but soon found that impossible. One reason for this is that this time I was able to read and re-read the posts, taking my time to ponder what was said, as well as reading posts that I was not able to see the first time (due to the fact that I wasn't there yet.)

I found bethk's comment very interesting: i can see the use of fixed versions of memory. I don't see memory as fixed. I also found it interesting that the group obsessed over the "enduring" portion of the discussion more than any other topic. Why do we find the concept of "imortality" so important?
