Where will man be a century from now. This question has been asked in every century preceding it. However, with the rate of new developments, the fate of man may truly be challenged. If robots and computers can do things better, why are people necessary. The basic argument is that people are necessary to build and program computers and robots. But who is to say we cannot program them to do it themselves. Is it not conceivable that artificial intelligences could one day control the world? This concept suggests that we should fear our own creations. Certainly someone like Simon would not be embraced by the populace. We may need to escape someday. Perhaps our only way out will be to enter the virtual world of cyberspace, thus becoming slaves to our own creations.
