What makes my desire "work" in my classroom is my students' trust
in me. Just
as I faced my fear as a student in the
Electronic Culture
course last fall, both in terms of the anxiety such an
untraditional
approach which emphasized a state of non-understanding as
"normal"
provoked, and in terms of the personal
demons I faced when working with the figure of Ted Bundy, my
students have had to face their anxiety spawned by being
given
"freedom" to not understand and to figure things out themselves
in the
classroom.
