What Matters Who Responds?

I am being pretty gentle in this paragraph. I could take, and sometimes
feel like taking, some strong shots at higher education, which is nothing
if not in the business of commodification. But higher education has been
under so much attack from the extreme right and left that I
am inclined not to make things worse. But as far as my own complicity
in this commodification goes -- the more I think about it, the more I see
how extensive that complicity has been. Not an uplifting view of the
profession here.
