Conclusions

As with many new technologies, much research must still be conducted to pin down the ways that online education works; however, composition theorists already agree that writing to an audience brings a writer to a new awareness about the power or impotence of the written word. While many students will always give an initial shiver at the thought of an English class, perhaps the online classroom will be the place where they gain the awareness of written communication that will ease their mind at the prospect of writing.
