“Truth is in the Eye of the Beholder”

This paper served as the culminating activity for English 280: British Literature 2.  I had chosen to write on Joseph Conrad’s Heart of Darkness because of its profound mark on the Modern Period of literature.  I have included this paper in this category because of the quality of the analysis.  After reading the text (and even after the classroom discussion), I was confused by Kurtz’s “horror.”
