To Use or Not to Use?
That's not the question, because if we use technology--and use it uncritically--then we forget to recognize the "social, political, and economic issues associated with such use. . . . [and] also may come to ignore it" (38).
And if we as individuals choose not to use technology, we still might not be facing the impact that technology has on literacy education, and we make one or two individuals carry the responsibility for integrating and maintaining technological use in our schools and universities. As this book makes clear over and over again, the connections between technology and literacy should be the business of all educators.
