Brenda's Presentation

Calvin Klein Ad

I feel as if though the ad portraits that one gender depends on the other. It expresses the ideals that our culture has had, for a long time, about gender and sex. It shows a man showing his body and muscular figure and then it portrays a woman in the nude, except for her underwear and her holding around the male figure. To me it shows her as advertising sex. It also represents the male as trying to advertise and sell jeans. But my question is why does the woman have to be nude? Is it to help sell the jeans or is it that it takes a nude woman to get people to notice the male figure and the advertisement?

I think it is a sexist ad. It discriminates against women. It shows a woman nude but the male has jeans own. To me it shows that a woman has to be naked to get some attention. I don’t think so. The ad has many gender and sex suggestions that one could state about it.
