meatware/wetware

Words referring to the objectified body abound. The words  "meatware/wetware" are terms for human beings attached to computer systems (compare to hardware and software). Again, the sexual connotation of the terms suggests invention by adolescent boys. These terms seem to be gendered in a way that would disgust many women who would prefer to become Haraway's "cyborgs," by connecting intimately with the machines as part of our twentieth century technological nature[1], rather than just being another program, as the hacker terms imply.
