Temmporal efficiency is a balance of the students' bandwidth, modem speed, and server speed with the amount of information available on the screen at a time. For example, if a student is connected from home on an 9600 baud modem, my site would not serve them well by being loaded with graphics and frames. However, when teaching in a CAI classroom, I am at liberty to use frames and images because I know my students' machines are connected via ethernet or T1 lines.
