(or a second preface, etc.)
Since finishing the bulk of this project in the Fall of 1998, two very important things have happened. First, and rather less important in its way, is that I am attempting to turn this work into part of my thesis, all of which I plan to create electronically. This will be a first for Virginia Commonwealth University, and I am still trying to get certain permissions. I ask only for kind thoughts, comments, and helpful suggestions as I greatly expand/gussy this project up.
Secondly, and important in its own way, is that my grandmother died (or "joined the Church Triumphant" as my family insisted on putting in her obituary...). She gracefully passed on one day after her 90th birthday, much (I'm sure) to her eternal consternation now that everyone knows how old she really was. I still haven't found the prose to express what this has done to my poetry, suffice to say that everything I wrote about my connection with my Grandma, I mean even more now.
