The overriding
issue that emerged from the face-to-face discussions at the two Town Hall
Meetings was the need for computers and writing folk to promote and teach
technology to others, outside of academe, who may wish to learn and utilize
technological resources in their classrooms, offices, and homes. In other
words, members of our field put out a "call to arms," a move to become
activists in the education and enrichment of our communities.
In order to develop a cohesive plan for
a Computers and Writing Outreach Initiative we encourage you to use the
"C & W Outreach Initiative" link below to tell other members of the
computers and writing community what projects you have currently underway
or are planning to initiate, to continue the deliberations begun at the
Town Hall Meetings, and to discuss what needs to be done to further the
initiative to promote and teach technology to others. |
