Definitions, Explanations, and Clarification..........
Virtual Reality, abbreviated VR, has many definitions: some broad, some specific
Virtual Reality provides a way for humans to view, manipulate, and interact with computers and very arcane software. Virtual Reality uses cutting edge technology to incorporate humans into a computer generated world conformed to the interest of humankind. These environments range from the interior of a house to the interior of a human-body. Using computer networked gloves and helmets, along with advanced software and hardware, one can experience environments once reserved only for the imagination.
SPECIFICITY......
On the other hand, the strict definition of virtual reality incorporates a requirement of total immersion. It must meet four requirements: 1)a head-mounted device (HMD) with a wide field of view; 2)tracking the position and attitude of the participant's body; 3)transducers that interpret participant's natural behaviors and 4) minimal delays in the rate at which the VR environment is updated in response to participants' movements and actions (Yulan Yuan).
