The shift in literary theory that I am observing could make teachers everywhere
feel like Dorothy in Oz finally tapping the it-was-there-all-the-time literary
magic of their red ruby, reading/writing shoes. In the November l991, issue
of Computers and Composition, Nancy Kaplan and Stuart Moulthrop
discuss the changing relationships of literature, composition and technology.
They conclude their essay by suggesting that hypertext will transform reading and
writing and pedagogy.
