At the base of my pedagogy is the belief that students write literature. What happens when a text in a writing class is a collection of essays generated from students taking the same class in the previous year? What happens when a learning goal in a writing class is publishing its own essays? What happens when students routinely have access to other students’ writing? What happens when web pages provide both research resources and an interactive means of expression? Well, “what happens” is that students create and experience literature in ways that might best be explained by experiencing and understanding hypertext.
