The woman who wrote the project began the course computer "illiterate." She had used computers before, but did not care for them and was very afraid that hitting the wrong key could "destroy things." Unlike many students in the lab who would immediately begin playing the their computers: surfing the Web, playing games, or checking email. The writer of project 17 would always leave her computer off until I instructed students on what to do.
By the end of the course, the writer
enjoyed using the computer. She moved from being a reluctant group member
to taking on the role of "Web master," helping others with the
intricacies of HTML and linking texts. She found "hypertext"
to be great fun and liked to "play" with her text. She particularly
