Also in 1995, Computers and Composition announced the establishment of Computers and Composition Online, and in 1997, the online companions to JAC (JAC Online) and Pre/Text (Pre/Text Electra(Lite)) as well as the online-only Enculturation appeared on the scene. Academic.Writing: Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Communication Across the Curriculum ran from 2000-2003 and then merged with Language and Learning Across the Disciplines to form Across the Disciplines. And in 2001, The Writing Instructor underwent a "virtual resurrection" from a discontinued print journal to a renewed "digital community and networked, refereed journal." This is not intended to be a comprehensive listing of online journals in the field, but it represents the journals that also found a kairotic moment in which to explore and establish online publishing as a viable mechanism for distributing peer-reviewed scholarship.
For an overview of digital publishing issues in rhetoric/composition, see the multi-journal special issue on electronic publication produced by Academic.Writing, CCC Online, Enculturation, Kairos, and The Writing Instructor (in Kairos this is issue 7.x)
Byron Hawk, editor of Enculturation, maintains a list of links to the sites of both print and online journals in Rhetoric/Composition
