Value

As we enter into a hospitable relationship with our peers in South Africa, the CCC teachers and students encounter different perspectives of the world that help bring our own perspectives into definition. For students, I believe this can be a particularly useful experience. The process of sharing their life stories with students in Port Elizabeth becomes its own motivation (to an extent); the exposure to a different culture provides new perspectives for them to understand themselves; and the hospitable exchange of stories and experiences even opens up a different approach to knowledge and collaboration.

The challenge arrives as we discuss these effects with others. The political emerges as we argue for the value of these effects.
