Welcome to LaraGrove Auditorium for our final MOO Meeting!
Today's topic is Homosexual Families.

By this time, you should have been divided into five discussion groups.
Each group will convene in a separate room. Your questions for discussion
will be written on the blackboard in that room, so you'll need
to read the blackboard once you arrive.

You'll be spending all the time today working in your small group.
As with last time, your group spokesperson will be responsible for
sending your group's summary to the mailing list.

Your spokesperson will have been assigned in advance.
That person should take notes as the discussion is going on, so that
he or she can send a summary of the discussion over e-mail to the class
as a whole, along with the question your group was asked.

The question and summary will count as one of the spokesperson's
postings to the list.

The group spokesperson will be responsible for making sure that the
discussion remains on track.
Please page Leslie if you'd like to receive a transcript of your
group discussion, to help with your summary.

Note: The above three slides are examples from a MOO discussion that took place on April 24, 1995, between a first-semester composition class at Susquehanna University and a second-semester class at George Washington University. The 33 students first congregated in Laragrove Auditorium, and then they moved to "smaller" discussion rooms to hold group discussions. We divided the students into groups before the MOO session, and we also selected a spokesperson for each group. As the slides state, the spokesperson was responsible for keeping the discussion focussed. He/she also sent a summary of the discussion to the class "journal," which was an on-going listserv-like discussion among the students.
