What Matters Who Writes?
What Matters Who Responds?
Andrea Lunsford, Rebecca Rickly, Michael Salvo,
and Susan West
This lesson came home to Lisa and me in a big way this last year when, after two years of
struggling to write an essay analyzing and criticizing our own past work on audience we
realized the degree to which our personas in that earlier essay were "written" extensively
by our investment in schooling and in the discourse of education. Two years and six
completely different drafts later, this essay is finally headed for print and should be out in
the May issue of CCC.
