Five Principles of New Media:
Or, Playing Lev Manovich

This article explains and demonstrates the five principles of new media discussed by Lev Manovich in The Language of New Media. The article also provides examples of student work, produced in my Winter 2003 "Writing in New Media" course, that illustrates these principles.

On all of the screens of the article, you need to interact with graphics and/or buttons in order to make things happen and to make text visible. Directions at the top of each screen should help you determine how to proceed.
