The laxity of the LRO (because it is always on-line and always available) can encourage students to ignore deadlines and due dates.

As with Blackboard and WebCT, students submit their work using the LRO. Because students have access to the LRO anytime, they often feel as if they can upload their work whenever they want. In short, due to the twenty-four availability of the LRO, students often feel there are no deadlines.

As with any assignment, simply encourage students to submit work on time by giving them firm deadlines and by telling them that you will check to see if the work is on time. Finally, tell students (regarding deadlines and submission) that the LRO is no different.
