Jane, a scientist, has an encounter with the Other which forces her to confront issues of difference in cross-cultural relations. Through a visual and textual narrative of one woman's experience, this work explores the complex relations between (mis) representation, knowledge and sexuality in interspecies' communication. The work draws on contemporary sources as well as archival materials in the history of astronomy, planetary observation, and interplanetary communication.
