The internet is communication by defintion. Information is exchanged through its intricate web of linked computers. Maybe the reason that some think that the internet
isn't human communication, that the medium extinguishes this, is that they don't understand the common system of symbols, signs and behavior that the users, the "techies" have come to take for granted. For example, the abbreviations that some use in their electronic mail like "BTW" for "by the way" and "IMHO" for "in my humble opinion." In fact, at times, the language of the net is imposed upon the non-users. You can't even watch the news at night without thirteen thousand URLs advertised. Ever thought about how it would feel if you didn't even know what a URL was?
