White Noise:Written by Don DeLillo. Deals with the slow but steady encroachment of modern technology into our everyday lives. DeLillo refrains from making judgemants but instead seems to question our use (misuse?) of technology. Traditional structure (plot, characters), but everything is a little bit skewed (ominous black cloud, weird drugs, death motif). Could be called post- postmodern fiction because of its theme. |
