Play is a central element in Teaching Lives. As teachers, that's perhaps more true than it is for this site as a whole. But we've tried to keep the spirit of play alive in the work we present on this site.

Sometimes that play takes the form of a surprise link to another part of the site, as when we link between Fences and Contrasts. Sometimes a link will play with the frames we've used to lay out this site. Sometimes a link will throw you out of the site altogether. And sometimes play takes the form of allusion or even illusion. I talked about this notion of play somewhat in my opening remarks at the CCCC Roundtable.
