Student Work and Examples

There are two main sections of student examples contained within this site. Both are frames-based.

The first, Evaluating a World Wide Web Site, contains an explanation of an assignment on evaluating web design. The assignment consists of two parts: a standard evaluation paper; and a HTML redo based on criteria generated via the evaluation.
The second, Design Rules, emerges from an analysis of student design choices that received positive feedback from both their peers and myself.

There are also some handouts that I have created to help teach design. These are listed below:

Design Guidelines for the WWW. This contains some basic pointers on design based on Tufte's suggestions.
Design Exercise. This serves as practice before the students write their evaluation papers. The class generates design comments after examining a series of different web sites.
