Making Do

Michael Joyce suggests that the new role of co-learners in the classroom is to "make do." Outlining a new (perhaps post-structuralist) cosmology, Joyce tells us to meet dispersal with action. For teachers, this means managing colearning: "Management, rightly understood, is 'making do,' with each verb strong: making do=constructive action." Can we make do theoretically?
