MOO Benefits: a Cornucopia of Delights

Since our ulterior motive for the Jester Forum was to show what MOOs are good for, we were delighted when Stainless (Bruce Rafnel) dropped a note during the meeting:
* CMC
* Role playing
* Simulations
* General text chat
* Distance education
* Web server
* OO Programming
* Shared interactive programming environment
* Meetings
* Support
* Language learning environment
* Giant menu with built-in help
* Command interface to shared applications
* Games

So often we find that even "seasoned" MOOers use MOO space primarily for "chatting," often not realizing they have a collaborative work space literally at their fingertips. This reminded us of the Kairos article with Andrea Lunsford where she speaks of the difficulty of working online. Many cite a "steep learning curve" as a problem for using MOO. With all the help becoming more and more available the learning curve is flattened. The list above indicates there are far more reasons to learn MOO than to resist MOO. More over the list also indicates that there are far more uses of MOO than simply chatting.
